A chess club operates for interested students through 1-6.  Beginners attend a workshop on Mondays at lunchtime, while more proficient, competitive players compete against one another weekly. 

Three teams of four players compete in the Inter schools competition on Friday afternoons during Terms 2 & 3.  Students also compete in whole day tournaments against other schools.
