All students K-6 are involved in a home reading program, with years 3-6 also involved in the Lexile Framework program.

The Premier's Reading Challenge, is run by the Department of Education and Training (DET) and encourages students to log the reading of 20 books (30 books for K-2) during the school year.  It is important to be familiar with the rules of The Challenge and for students to read books that are on the Booklists.

By completing The Challenge, students are eligible for a certificate from the Premier. If a child receives a certificate 4 years in a row, they will receive a gold certificate.

Georges Hall PS encourages students to complete The Challenge with their parents assistance, and submit their reading log in paper to the library by August 13 2010.  Parents can download a reading log from the Premier's Reading Challenge website.
